A message from our Ladies' Captain, Sandra Best
I was recently elected as the ladies' representative/captain on the Hanmer Springs Golf Club committee. I am really keen to work alongside Mike to try and foster the ladies' enthusiasm and presence in the golf club. For ladies who don't know me,please introduce yourself to me. Please feel free to contact me on 021 487467 if I can help you in any way. I look forward to seeing all of you on the golf course.
Expressions of interest are sought for the Pahau Trophy Competition Team
This trophy was initiated by Hanmer and Culverden Golf Clubs and has a long history.
The competition is men’s interclub between Hanmer, Amuri, Culverden, Cheviot, Scargill and
Hawarden. Currently, the minimum handicap index is 17 and played in 4-man teams with matches
being played on handicap. See the attachment for more information.
It is proposed that the competition will be held from March through to late May though there
is a possibility that it could be from May. This is to be confirmed.

Mike's Pro Golf Tip
This week I'm looking at pitching in and around 40 metres.
Hands, ball and club should all be aligned in the middle of your set-up.
On the backswing, hands to shoulder height.
Coming down, hit the ball first, taking a shallow divot and follow through.
Hands should finish at shoulder height.
