Brent Berry lit up the first round of the men's summer cup with an incredible round of 66 (40 stablefords). Scott Callaway came in second, followed by Mark Minson in third.

Louise Pearce, not to be outdone by the men, took first place in the women's competition with a very impressive 42 stablefords. Nicky West was second with Carolyn Williams third.

Hanmer Springs Thermal Pools and Spa Pro Am Update.

3rd,4th February 2024

We now have 48 professionals confirmed for this event because it has proven to be so popular. This makes room for any members that may want to play. If you want to guarantee a spot, get in touch with Mike at the office by Friday at the latest.

Sir Bob Charles, the renowned golfer and all-round nice guy, will be in attendance at the club over the weekend.

Twilight Golf Returns to Hanmer Springs

Starting from this Thursday the 18th January we will be hosting a weekly Twilight tournament.

Tee Off from 4pm to 530pm with an entry fee of $10.00 for 10 holes.

The bar will be open and food will be available.

Guest welcome.

Greenkeepers Report

Its all hands on deck right now, since the course needs to be watered constantly due to the prolonged dry weather and mowed due to the unstoppable growth of the grass.

Since the greens are currently our first priority and receive a lot of manual watering to stay green, the tee blocks are quite hard. Apologies in advance for this.

In my many years on the course, this would be one of the driest years that I have witnessed.

We would not have survived this season without the help of our dads army volunteers, so a particular thank you to them.

Enjoy the course and play well.

Hanmer Springs Golf Club Characters from the Past

Bert Beattie, the one-time local policeman and club member, once played the course in 69 shots using only a putter.

That sounds like a challenge for our current members.
