Club Day Saturday 4th May 2024

Jeff Dalley had a good day on Saturday, taking out first place in the mens net medal competition and also winning nearest the pin and scoring a 2. 

Susan Turner had an incredible 63 net to win the ladies event at a canter.

Well done to Jeff and Sue.

Hanmer Ladies busy schedule.


On Wednesday 1 st May Carolyn, Maree, Bev, Boio, Anne and Sandra represented Hanmer Springs Golf Club in the annual Hurunui Plate tournament. The tournament was held at Culverden this year. Despite the odd shower of rain through the day Scargill were the victorious team, closely followed by Kaikoura.
Hanmer came fourth, 0.4 of a point behind third placed Amuri.Carolyn and Anne had the best nett score of 64. Bev and Sandra managed to score two twos.

Congratulations to all players for a very good result.

On Monday Sandra, Louise, Anne and Sandy represented Hanmer in the fifth round of the North Canterbury Ladies Pennant played at Cheviot.
The day was perfect for golf and the Hanmer Ladies eventually beat Amberley by 3.5 to 0.5.

FROST, its that time of the year.

Please keep in mind that the course is closed when frost is on the ground. Walking on a frosted greens can lead to long term damage.

If the ground is white do not tee off. Check with the office for a tee time. (normally after 1030am,)

Considered one of the hardest holes in golf, the 16th hole at Cypress Point, Monterey, California.

There are  two options to reach the green, drive over the Pacific Ocean to reach the green, or play it safe and land on the left fairway. Despite the potential risks, many golfers can’t resist the urge to attempt the 219-yard carry to the tiny green.
