Club Day 29th March 2025

What a busy weekend at the club. We hosted the Buller Westland v North Canterbury game with 40 players and of course our own well attended club day. 

The course was busy all day and the bar afterwards. It's weekends like this that ensure we have a financiallly robust club.  

The format on the day was best 3 of 4 stableford and the winning team was Richard Campbell, Adam Jacks, Sam Gavin and Jason Hill  with 115 Stablefords.

This weekend the 5th April will be the second round of Club Championships followed on the 12th of April by round 3.

Cutting Edge Technology on Hanmer Springs Golf Greens.

Maintaining a golf course with impeccable greens requires regular care and maintenance. Among the many practices employed by golf course managers, aeration stands out as a crucial technique to ensure the long-term health and playability of the course.

Aeration is vital for the overall health of the turf and helps combat common challenges such as soil compaction, thatch accumulation, waterlogging, and nutrient deficiencies.

Aeration from coring is beneficial but can leave the greens difficult to play for some time afterwards. Hanmer Springs Greens keepers Steve and Neil engaged 360 Enterprises using a brand-new technology which aerates the greens by shooting compressed air at depth and avoids any surface damage.

Initial results were very pleasing After this process, the greens were playable immediately and received glowing feedback.

A smiling Steve Hill said, “healthy greens, satisfied members and no disruption to business- what more could you ask for?”

Course Closure 6th April 

 We will be hosting the Canterbury Juniors this Sunday and the course will be closed to members until 12pm.
