Cross Country Mid-week Golf

We enjoyed a fantastic club day on Wednesday this week. The format was cross country, which involved some innovative holes. The 10^th tee to the Wrecker and the 17^th tee to the 18^th green proved particularly challenging and provided plenty of laughter.  Well done to the eventual winners, Greg Samson, Boio Sarahu Hothersall, Nikki West, and Barry Toomy.

Club house upgrade

The painters have put the first coat of grey on the roof, and this has really lifted the appearance of the club rooms. This work will be finished very soon. Thank you to Fred Saunders, who rescued the rotting window frames. 

The new outdoor furniture has been ordered and we expect delivery at the end of October.

Mike’s Pro Tip

When chipping around the green, you can perform with better accuracy by following these steps.

Feet close together, approx. 30 cm apart.

Play the ball in the centre of your stance.

Hold the club at bottom of the grip

Hands slightly ahead of the ball.

60% weight on the left side (for right-handed golfers)

swing club with pendulum action and no wrist break

Focus on where you want the ball to land, not where you want it to finish. 

Upcoming Events and Course Closure

Mens 54 Hole Open.  Thursday, October 6th, from 1pm to Sunday, October 9th, at 3pm.

A reminder that the course will be closed to members.
